B. CHANDLER
Mark Chandler currently serves as a Director of Georgia Commerce Bank as well as Georgia Commerce Bancshares, Inc.
Mr. Chandler is President and Founder of Habersham Properties, Inc. (HPI), an Atlanta property management and brokerage firm. Founded in 1993, Habersham Properties has a wide variety of clients ranging from individuals to institutions. HPI manages over thirty properties in the multi-family sector as well as larger commercial properties in the Atlanta market.
Mr. Chandler has been an active real estate investor for over twenty years. He has been involved in all stages of both the acquisition and disposal of real estate as well as the financing of these transactions. He has held an active real estate license with the Georgia Real Estate Commission for over fifteen years and has served as qualifying broker for Habersham Properties since inception.
Prior to his entry into real estate, Mr. Chandler was a senior auditor at Arthur Anderson & Co. from 1984 to 1988 and obtained the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation in 1987. During this period, Mark worked with a wide variety of clients but specialized in bank engagements. These assignments included several community banks as well as acquisition work for a regional bank client.
Prior to Arthur Anderson, Mr. Chandler was employed by Trust Company Bank (predecessor to SunTrust Bank) from 1981 – 1984. Mark was hired in the management trainee program and also served as an operating supervisor.
Mr. Chandler, a native of Atlanta, attended the Lovett School where he graduated in 1977. He obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in finance from the University of Georgia in 1981. Additionally, he was enrolled in the Master of Accounting program at Georgia State University from 1982 –1984, obtaining the proper course credits required for the CPA designation.
Mr. Chandler has been a member of the Georgia Society of CPA’s, the Atlanta Board of Realtors and the Atlanta Apartment Association. Furthermore, he is an active member of the Buckhead Rotary Club and Northside United Methodist Church where he has served on both the Finance Committee and chairman of the Stewardship Committee. Mr. Chandler has also served as Alumni Advisor for his college fraternity for the past ten years.
Mr. Chandler and his wife Barbara, live in Atlanta with their son Bryant, 17 and daughter Weezie, 14. He enjoys running, exercising, golf and traveling with his family. |
