Mark Tipton is chairman and chief executive officer of Georgia Commerce Bank (GCB) as well as Georgia Commerce Bancshares, Inc. Tipton previously held numerous senior positions during his 15-year tenure with First Union Corporation. He served as executive vice president and head of commercial banking for First Union National Bank of Georgia. Prior to that, he served as group president for North Atlanta and was responsible for more than 35 branches and all small business/commercial lending activities.

In 1981, Tipton began his banking career with Texas Commerce Bank (TCB) in Houston. After completing the Commercial Banking Officer Development Program, he held various positions during his seven-year tenure with TCB, including executive vice president and manager of Texas Commerce Bank-Northwest in Dallas. At TCB-Northwest, Tipton had total management responsibility for the day-to-day operations of a $75 million asset-size unit bank of the Texas Commerce Bancshares Holding Company.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science from Tulane University in 1978, Tipton earned a Master in Business Administration from Baylor University in 1981.

Tipton is a past chairman of the Tulane Associate Board of Directors and also serves on Tulane’s President’s Council. A member of the Georgia Tennis Foundation Board, he was previously on the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, where he also served as board chairman. He has completed the Leadership North Fulton Development Program and has served on the boards of the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Chattahoochee Nature Center, and the National Tulane University Alumni Association.

Tipton and his wife Diana live in Atlanta.

 

Rodney L. HallRodney L. Hall

Rodney Hall is director, president and chief lending officer of Georgia Commerce Bank as well as Georgia Commerce Bancshares, Inc.
Hall previously served as senior vice president of First Union National Bank of Georgia and was responsible for relationship management in the financial services division of corporate and investment banking. Hall joined First Union in Atlanta in 1988 as a commercial banking manager. In 1995, Hall was named corporate banking sales manager for the multi-industry group at First Union Bank for the state of Georgia.

In 1982, Hall started his banking career in Texas. He held both vice president and senior vice president positions after completion of the Commercial Officer Management Training Program at InterFirst Bank Dallas in 1983.

Having first earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from Angelo State University, Hall earned a graduate banking degree from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware in 1987.

Hall currently acts as treasurer and serves on the board of directors for the Bobby Dodd Institute (BDI).. BDI helps people with disabilities and disadvantages to become fully participating members of the community. He serves as president of the Alpharetta High School Dugout Club and is a member of the Angelo State University Alumni Association.

Hall and his wife Kim are the proud parents of their son Taylor.
